Whether you are a writer, a musician, a photographer, or any other type of artist – if you create anything original, you have rights in what you create.

And it’s my job to make sure you know how to do that.

I will explain the basics of what is a copyright, what rights it actually gives you, and how to create works with or for others. I want you to understand what rights you have regarding your work, when you get them, and most of all how to protect them. The law gives you multiple options for recourse when someone steals your work and it’s important that you know which option you want to pursue and set yourself up properly before your work is stolen. Otherwise, the option you want may not be available in your circumstances.

I’ll also explain the basics of “fair use” and how this concept is a defense, not a permission slip to use anyone’s work.

This is an ideal talk for professional artists and serious hobbyists – photographers, artists, writers, and artistic groups.  Please contact me if you are interested in having me speak at your event or to your group.
